I'll dominate 'legitimate fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.
Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming bout.
Ex two time unified heavyweight champion Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Fighter's Mindset
"I plan to damage his features and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35, stated.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Respectful Exchange
Despite those words, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually recognized for his dramatics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, at the same time, targeted British opponent Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.
"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.
Paul's History
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.
He lost to British fighter Fury in last year.
Commercial Attraction
Still, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, frequently receiving huge earnings.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would stop the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.
"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.
Size Difference
As the two fighters engaged in the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity evident, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is actually going ahead.
